Established in 1937, the Junior Woman's Club of Chevy Chase (JWCCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The JWCCC is historically associated with the GFWC Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase and federated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC).
Uniting women in friendship and volunteer service for the good of our community and beyond.
The JWCCC focuses on supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life of women and children. As such, each year we adopt local non-profit organizations as our Signature Charities, putting our resources to work in ways that will make the most impact. Our current Signature Charities are Hearts & Homes for Youth and the DC Diaper Bank. Our monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month, September through May. Each meeting has a topic or theme, a service project, and/or a guest speaker. Annually, we organize fundraisers with proceeds benefitting our signature charities.
In addition to our charitable causes, members can also participate in hands-on, project-based programs for at-risk youth through our Bistro Boyz program and our GEMS mentoring program. JWCCC Members also serve on the clubs committees, our Board of Directors and participate in social groups such as our book club and “Girls on Wild” events. We are dedicated both to supporting the community and to having fun!

In December, the JWCCC hosted our annual Holiday party and Gift Drive for Children and Families in Needs, in partnership with the Montgomery County Child and Welfare office. We sponsored 23 children, several parents and donated additional gifts, clothes and toys. Much fun and holiday joy was had by all! Followed by christmas caroling the next week at Kensington Nursing & Rehab Center. Happy New Year Everyone!
The JWCCC held a volunteering night at the DC Diaper Bank. We helped with packaging diapers for families in need.
GEMS Mentoring Project
The GEMS (Girls Empowered Motivated and Successful) Mentoring Project, is one of the JWCCC's special projects. GEMS is offered to teen girls ages 14-19; in partnership with one of our signature charities Hearts and Homes for Youth. Hearts & Homes serves youth in crisis by providing them with a variety of residential and supportive programs; including therapeutic group homes, foster care and independent living for pregnant and parenting teen mothers. The goal of the GEMS project is the offer the girls emotional support and mentoring; by exposing them to project based learning, teaching them life skills for independent living (cooking lessons, job skills, etc.) and offering them an opportunity to participate in service activities and social events. Our participation and affection for the girls has meant a lot to them and to our club members; already leaving a lasting impression on the lives we have touched.
JWCCC annual summer pool party! Lots of sun and fun with the Ladies!
Thanks to all who were able to join us!
The JWCCC hosted the “Jazz for the Cause” fundraiser in partnership with the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase! Performances featured the B-CC Jazz Ensemble and the MC Jazz Ensemble. Proceeds benefited the MC Department of Music Scholarship Fund, Hearts & Homes for Youth and the DC Diaper Bank. Thank you to all who came and supported the event!
The JWCCC hosted the "Winter Dance Party", our charity dance fundraiser benefiting our two signature charities Hearts & Homes for Youth and the DC Diaper Bank. The party was a rocking success! Thank you to all our partners and members for your participation.
The JWCCC supports two charitable organizations, our “signature charities”; Hearts and Home for Youth and the DC Diaper Bank. Both organizations were supported through financial donations, in-kind donations and programs offered by our membership. Other charities that our club supports are the Montgomery County Social Services and the Chevy Chase Fire Station.
